Are there any good tutorials about how to structure a yii2 app the way you are suggesting?

@robwent @jacmoe sorry for late response. I suggest to move the Domain logic into the "src" folder. Services, Commands, External APIs, business logic, etc...

Anything tied to the framework, then within "app" (widgets, components, behaviors, etc). No business logic whatsoever.

I normally make extensive use of the DiC so I remove the business logic from those models. They are already bloated with Validation Rules, Behaviors and Events.

Thanks @tonydspaniard I think I might already be doing something similar to that, just with a differently named folder.
