Would be nice if the python module support ARM for the PinePhone and other ARM devices.

@39aldo39 You seem to have been active recently so you might see this. Basically if you install the module for this project, it doesn't actually run on ARM. I don't specifically know which part of your project isn't working, but since it relates directly to my usage of this module, I thought it best I open the issue here. I'm trying to use your project on my Linux phone and I can't do so without ARM support. Thanks for your work on this!

Yes, so libdecsync does support ARM now, but the python bindings have a compiled version for x64 included. To get it working I simply have to add an ARM build to it. I will transfer the issue to the right repo.

Would you happen to have a timeline for that addition? I'm excited to get this amazing tool you've made working on my PinePhone!

39aldo39

The latest version does have the addition!

Thank you!

@39aldo39 The pip package hasn't been updated yet so I still can't use this.

39aldo39

It is, though? Executing `pip3 install -U libdecsync` should install version 2.1.0. Maybe you thought about `radicale_storage_decsync`?

Yes, that's the one I'm trying to use. I get this error when running it: ``` [2021-10-06 18:58:56 +0200] [50589] [CRITICAL] An exception occurred during server startup: Failed to load storage module 'radicale_storage_decsync': libdecsync: Machine type 'aarch64' not supported ```

It looks like I don't detect ARM devices correctly. If you are willing to change the source, you could try modifying line 38 from `elif machine_type.startswith("arm"):` to `elif machine_type.startswith("arm") or machine_type == "aarch64":`. I will later correct the detection.

I tried installing the AUR package and got this error for libdecsync: ``` ==> Starting build()... Makefile:17: *** Unsupported platform aarch64. Stop. ==> Entering fakeroot environment... ==> Starting package()... Makefile:17: *** Unsupported platform aarch64. Stop. ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package(). Aborting... error making: libdecsync ```

The latest version of the bindings should now detect your device correctly, so executing `pip3 install -U libdecsync` should work now.

It works!

Looking forward to that!
