You’ve lost your home. Your children stopped going to school months ago because it was no longer safe. You’ve lost friends and family to violence. Soon, you’ll have to leave the only home you’ve ever known. This is the reality that nearly 12 million refugees across the world face every day. Transitioning to a new country is always challenging, and it becomes heartbreakingly difficult when it’s not a choice—it’s the only way to survive. Refugees often carry with them the trauma they faced in their homeland, but also a deep desire to connect with their new communities. But a new environment—one in which they may not fully understand the language, customs, or day-to-day tasks that are a part of life—can be profoundly isolating. With this hack, we want to make this transition easier. Partnering with http://www.scmmedicalmissions.org we are building a cross-platform Ionic mobile app that guides refugees through legal documents, language learning, job-seeking, educational pursuits, and more. We're embracing the opportunity to connect refugees with resources and support that will help set them up for success.

react-intl-cra icon react-intl-cra

Proof of concept to show how React-Intl can be implemented into a React app to automate the extraction of localizable content. Also includes optimizations to show proper code-splitting of each locale file, allowing initial bundle size to be restricted to a single default locale. This enables smaller initial bundle sizes.
