'deque' file not found

There was an error in IDEKit_SrcEditView about IDEKit_LineCache not found, so I imported the header. The IDEKit_LineCache header was giving me the error 'deque' file not found. No idea what's going on here. This is a great project, but needs much better documentation to make it useful. I'm working on a Mac IDE for a language not present in the the "Languages" directory, and there is no documentation on autocomplete, syntax highlighting, editor customizations, etc. This would be a very useful addition. Thanks!

As in <deque.h>? That's a C++ header.

I understand - but it's a .mm file - doesn't Xcode compile those as Objective-C++?

ghost

Once I get this working, I'll be happy to help with documentation

CodaFi

It's possible that Xcode is having trouble recognizing the .h file as ObjC++, which may stem from it being imported into an ObjC only context. Can you check the "included by" field to see?

ghost

I set the file type as "C++ Header" in the Inspector Pane - no change. That should be enough to get it to recognize it.

CodaFi

Not always. Check "included by"

IDEKit_LineCache.mm and IDEKit_SrcEditView.h

Hmph. I'm surprised. It compiles fine on my machine. Also, the header type of default C is fine. Are you sure you maybe aren't referencing this from an ObjC context?

The demo compiles fine - all I did is copy over the IDEKit files and subclass IDEKit-SrcDocument to cause this error.

CodaFi

Then that subclass is the problem. It must be indirectly referencing IDEKit_LineCache (huge no-no in ObjC++). Change the file extension of the subclass to MM

ghost

Ok, let me try that.

ghost

Worked, thanks :) how did the demo manage to avoid this? Also, is there any documentation at all yet?

CodaFi

The demo is mostly an ObjC-python bridge. There's not much there to do. Also, absolutely no documentation. The framework is exactly as I found it in the SVN repo. I haven't had a lot of time to go through and do the dirty work of cleaning up the classes and such.

Ok. Thanks

I really do appreciate you volunteering to do this. I promise to get to your Pull Requests as they come ASAP
