It allows you to go in and select an item, but when you click on some picture it just doesn't react. I'm not sure why, will look at it on Friday. If this proves difficult to fix, the feature will be dropped.
Gallery selection of images does not work.

Fixed this in a real bad way. Might be Samsung device Android 3.0+ specific error. Gonna test it on Fred's mobile with the original setup. Gonna see if it is specific to default gallery as well.

For the record, even if this might be samsung-specific: This error does not occur in the gallery app I made as a prototype for our gallery, and I cannot find anything that has been replaced or removed or added or misspelled. It is certainly related to our use fragments in my view.

Did not work on HTC either. Changed back to the fix, hopefully it won't cause problems. Closing this for now, if it is bugged it can still be reopened.
