For my personal page, I decided to cache the tiles for the foreseable future (https://github.com/chkuendig/WebWorldWind/commit/3b22395db57bc730c2996011c736f8bd2c4342a9 and https://github.com/chkuendig/WebWorldWind/commit/0b1483eba758a10ab0f7b5ac8940c3159439938d), but it would be nice to have either an alternative high-res layer available (or a implementation on top of Azure Maps) or a migration path to another library. I know this project is pretty much dead, but I thought it might be worthwile to open a discussion about this.
