Howdy, I have been using this a bit (it’s a great lib!) and was just informed that this is using a GPL license — are you open to re-licensing with a permissive license? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permissive_software_license

Hi @zachleat, Licensing isn't something I'm very familiar with. Could the GPL 3 license pose any problems for your use case?
fwiw I’m not a lawyer! It might be easiest explained by the Conditions sections on GitHub’s choosealicense.com web site: https://choosealicense.com/licenses/gpl-3.0/ versus https://choosealicense.com/licenses/mit/ Take special note that GPL has a `Same license` restriction, which limits its use. It’s deemed a “viral license” for that reason.
GPL essentially means that any code using your library must also be released under the GPL. It's actually less permissive than MIT, BSD, etc. by design. If your goal is to let folks experiment freely and/or maximize adoption, MIT would be a really good choice. If your goal is to ensure copyleft ("viral licensing") for everything that uses it, GPL is better. FWIW most libraries these days tend to use MIT, BSD, and similar permissive licenses. But it's your library and thus your decision, of course :D I hope that helps!
Thanks for your informations @claviska and @zachleat. Indeed, the MIT will probably be more appropriate for this library. I'll update it in the coming days.
It's done, the new version of `extract-colors` has been released under the MIT license. To use `extract-colors` with the MIT license, please update to the `v4.2.0` version of `extract-colors`: [npmjs](https://www.npmjs.com/package/extract-colors) I'm closing this issue, but feel free to create a new one if you notice an error.
amazing! Thank you!
