The point of epochs is to make a hard break in how you structure your version string. As such, bumping the epoch and not changing anything else about the version string doesn't make a lot of sense. The use case may be better served if the `bump_epoch` took an optional `new_version` argument. The output would be the combination of the old version's epoch plus one, and the new_version for the remainder.
