A new tab opened in one group appears in other groups

If I have some groups open, I open a new tab in one group, then visit the other groups and that same tab is visible in all of them. If I close the tab in any group it vanishes from all groups. I can drag the tab out of the group I don't want and into the group where I do want it, and it stays in the right place but I have to do this for all open groups. This "rogue" tab is not reflected in the count of tabs per each group (i.e. the number in parenthesis stays the same even though there is an additional tab) This is about 95% repeatable, and I've not yet been able to identify what is different when this doesn't happen. Happy to add edits and report logs if you can think of anything that might help.

Odd. I've never seen this. Is this a new blank tab. or does it contain a web page?

michaelshiloh

Both. If I open a new tab (blank or web) it shows up everywhere. Also I just noticed that the “move tab to another group “ has vanished again On Sat, Aug 1, 2020 at 12:16 AM ThosRTanner <[email protected]> wrote: > Odd. I've never seen this. That's confusing. I've uploaded a pre-release version here: https://github.com/ThosRTanner/tabgroupsmanager/releases/tag/v1.1.0-pre-release which you could try downloading. Also please check it works (or doesn't) from a blank profile, as I can't replicate either problem now

I'll give it a try. How do I create a blank profile? go to about:profiles. It allows you to create a totally new and blank profile and launch a new browser. you can check things in there and go back to your old one or carry on using the new one

The current release seems to work fine in my new profile. Does that tell us anything? I have not tested the pre-release. The pre-release, with my original profile, also seems to work fine. I'll try to pay attention to any changes that I make in case it happens again. So it happened again with the pre-release and my old profile. After an hour or so of working, I opened a new tab and found that it lacked the TGM menu, while tabs I had opened earlier did have the TGM menu. And once again the tab appeared in all groups. I can't figure that I did anything different. Opened a new tab, pasted a URL. Same thing happens if I open a new tab with no pasted URL. I attach a screencast of the situation. If the problem is in my profile, would it help to send you my profile? does the problem happen in the newly created blank profile? I dont think github saves attachments to emails so I couldn't see the screenshot This bit: > So it happened again with the pre-release and my old profile. After an hour or so of working, I opened a new tab and found that it lacked the TGM menu, while tabs I had opened earlier did have the TGM menu. is very odd though. It looks like TGM is crashing and no longer attaching itself to new tabs.

The problem does not seem to happen in the newly created blank profile, at least not since I started using it about 2 hours ago. I'm happy to send you the attachment directly if you wish. LMK your email address.
