Yeah. I've had that bite me in the past. There is two solutions. Check out jekyll-bootstrap which is supposedly 100% github pages compliant. Here it it's category page: https://github.com/plusjade/jekyll-bootstrap/blob/master/categories.html
Or you could switch this over to octopress which has a nice deploy script for github but does all the rendering before you push.

@mattmcmanus Does that Jekyll Bootstrap then have individual category pages? Like /category/how-to/
or anything like that?
from a11yproject.com.
@mattmcmanus Okay. Still thinking about this. My thoughts at the moment:
- Let's strip out any reference to categories for launch.
- Re-class this as a "Feature" not a "Bug"
- Then we can assign it to you and you can get it done at your leisure.
- Maybe we could even just do a javascript filter'y sort of category system on the archives page?

It doesn't look like it. Here is an example: http://themes.jekyllbootstrap.com/categories.html
Here is an example of an octopress category page: http://mattmcman.us/blog/categories/life/
I think you're right though. Mark this as a feature and we can figure out a long term solution later. It's trivial, however, to add categories to the individual posts, so that should be done now.

@davatron5000 How do you feel about the current archive page solution to this? Did you have more ideas for a dedicated category page?

This looks/works great for me! Let's close this.
