Question: How do I configure the client or request with connection and response timeouts ? about node-rest-client

Currently you can't. I have a pending pull request about this subject but it just add timeout to request not responses. During the next weeks I'll try to add timeout to both requests and responses.

I used this as a workaround.You can try if this works for you
var req = null;
var timeout = setTimeout(function() { if(req) req.emit('error', new Error('Time out!'));}, 30000);
writeClient.get(url, args, function(data, response){
//do stuff
clearTimeout(timeout);
next();
});
req.on('error',function(err){
clearTimeout(timeout);
next();
});
