I'm trying to use the strength meter in a form on a bootstrap modal.

I have a button click which invokes the plugin and pops the modal. When the user closes the modal, I want to clear the strength meter. I do this by calling the destroy method on the modal hide event.

But when I pop the modal again, the strength meter is still visible with the previous result.

$("#modal-read-subscriber").find("[name=update-password]").on("click", function () {
    $("#modal-subscriber-update-password form").find("[name=new-password]").pwstrength();
    $("#modal-subscriber-update-password").modal("show");
  });

  $("#modal-subscriber-update-password").on('hide.bs.modal', function (event) {
    $("#modal-subscriber-update-password form").find("[name=new-password]").pwstrength("destroy");
  });

Any help appreciated

My mistake, I had a stray destroy elsewhere in my code which was causing the issue

from jquery.pwstrength.bootstrap.
