Our guide is still based upon the Android Development Tools.
We'll release a new version of our SDK that will be based on the new Android Studio and it will reflect the maven integration.
We do however have our latest SDK in the maven repository, so you can use it with no problem.

It is appears maven repo is a version behind? I'm only seeing 3.6.1 please advise.

Thanks for the input.The new version for the adjust SDK uses Android Studio by default and it's on Maven Repository.
Feel free to open a new issue for the new version.
