PHP 5.3 series entered an end of life cycle and is receiving only critical fixes. http://php.net/archive/2013.php#id2013-07-11-1 Updating PHP on your server isn't rocket sience...every good webhosting company supports PHP >= 5.4. All projects I do, are with PHP 5.4/5.5. And I encourage everyone to move away from 5.3.
