Correct me if i'm wrong. But looking at the elections on agoravoting.com I actually can see the votes for each one of the elections. What I can't see is a global count with the current results.
What is the point for this?
Either you show the votes with the percentages that each option has at the current moment or you hide not only the percentages but also the votes.
I think it will make sense the following:
- Add an option when creating the election:
- Allow to see results before election has ended (checkbox)
- If checked the temporal result for the election at any given moment is shown as also are shown what voted each one of the people involved (if their vote is not secret)
- If unchecked not only the temporal result for the election is hidden, but also what voted each one of the people involved. You can show a "Mr xxx. has voted" but without showing what he voted. This information will be disclosed when the election ends (if their vote is not secret)
- Allow to see results before election has ended (checkbox)

First of all, sorry to answer you 4 months after you posted the issue. We are actually using trello to track problems (which might not be completely convenient, but we were experimenting =) ).
Regarding this issue, we allow both public and secret elections. This means that the vote in those election can either be public for everyone, or secret (but public for delegates).
When the vote is secret, it doesn't make sense to publish neither each vote (because they are secret), and it doesn't make sense either to do an "online tally" because anyone closely looking before and after a single vote happened could easily discover your vote.
Note that even when the election has secret vote, some votes are public. Those who chose to disclose their vote act as "delegates" in that election. A delegate, by definition, makes his/her vote public, otherwise it wouldn't make sense to delegate on a delegate. This might have fooled you into thinking that all votes are public even in secret elections.
When an election is public, it makes sense to do an only tally. We haven't done that because we didn't need it, but I agree this can be desirable. Anyone can actually do it manually, so why not just do it ourselves? Please open a card in trello about this: https://trello.com/board/agora-ciudadana/5054e9e060d5bc9a08196b96
As a side note, we also have thought about doing a estimation of the result of the election taking into account delegation results in previous elections: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Xk5tOAV-YXFtC9trG1srOHXoBV1i7L5tYPugIKRtEn8/edit
