Mod to improve the Carenado C182RG for MSFS

Development version

The development version is the latest (and therefore potentially unstable) version. If you use this version you should expect to encounter bugs.

The development version can be downloaded from https://projects.alexchesters.com/c182rg-improvement-project/development/c182rg-improvement-project.zip

Latest version

The latest version can be downloaded by visiting https://github.com/AlexChesters/c182rg-improvement-project/releases/latest, this page contains the latest release and the release body will contain a link to that version's c182rg-improvement-project.zip file.

If you prefer you can also download this mod from flightsim.to

Installation

Regardless of which version you install the installation process is the same, just copy the c182rg-improvement-project from inside the zip file you downloaded (not the unzipped folder itself) to your MSFS Community folder.

If you want to be sure you are copying the correct folder, ensure the folder you are copying has a manifest.json directly inside it, e.g.:

C182 project question

Hi, I am impressed that you have managed to fix the autopilot power issue! In the past, I fixed many Carenado autopilots in FSX and P3D, but am totally stumped by the encryption in MSFS.. How do you get around that?

create a pull request workflow

this doesn't need to deploy anything anywhere, but a build would be a useful smoke test

add support for long range fuel tanks

Carenado's C182RG only includes the standard tanks, whereas the 182RG also supports long range tanks.

In MSFS fuel tanks are configured in the aircraft's flight_model.cfg but unfortunately Carenado chooses to encrypt this file. In order for this mod to support long range fuel tanks we will need to provide our own entire flight_model.cfg from scratch.
