Code 1006 just means that the socket was closed abnormally. Why it has to reconnect so often I don't know.

I get these frequently and a couple of times, the devices stopped updating in the UI until I restarted the plugin or HB itself

Happening to me with a Shelly 1PM Plus, wifi connection is poor but quite stable, but sometimes the device is disconnected from network for some time.
I tried to adjust the reconnect intervals to more frequently but many times the device is connected to the network, after a disconnection, and the plugin is not up to date to current device status (home app shows device is on and the device is really off).
Only solution, for now, is to restart the child bridge.

I also see this in the logs occasionally (every 2-4 days, irregular interval). Disconnects, then it reports error because the address is already in use, and after a few minutes it calms down and keeps working. Fortunately no restart necessary.

I am experiencing the same behaviour as @gintonic4all with this new update. Nothing has changed on my infrastructure (running Eero wifi).

Hi, seems like my Shelly 1 Plus is reconnecting quite often (several times per hour) to the homebridge shelly ng plugin. Its wifi connection (rrsi: -75) is poor but stable, cause it seems reachable during all homebridge reconnection attempts.

Properly reconnects after the indicated 5 seconds, then no further issue encountered. This happens to 2 different Shelly devices at the exact same time, with both being installed in the exact same location within very good reach of WiFi access point, and no other devices in Homebridge showing issues around the same time. My network management log indicates no glitches on access points or other networked devices. I cannot draw any particular conclusions from this, nor does it impact the functioning of Homebridge or the Shelly switches... For me it's merely a log entry with no impact, but possibly this information is useful for further troubleshooting.

It does go away, but I can't claim it's because of the restart. It was an infrequent occurrence and I have not monitored the logs since, so it also doesn't bother me... the devices work otherwise fine.

I have this behavior only when connected via Ethernet! Connection is much more stable with WiFi. Maybe it’s due to the fact that my Homebridge (POC) currently runs with Hyper-V on a Microsoft 2017 Surface Pro connected via WiFi.

interesting thing - I happened across this suggestion here regarding another shelly issue, followed the guidance to prune the .shelly-ng.json file by removing old shelly devices I used to have, restarted HB service and I'm not getting the 1006 error for now at least. Who knows but thought it might possibly help others.
