Nintendo Direct announcements can be parsed using Nintendo's official WebCal calendar. Something of the following should happen:

Checking for a new event would likely consist of storing an ics file from the URL and comparing it to a fresh download every startup (12 hours). If a new event is found, then announce it. As for announcing a reminder, some form of date/time package would be needed.
