I haven't done this yet, but I believe you're right. Up to this point I've just discussed project-related things in the stack overflow php chat. The people I've worked with on the amp projects so far all generally hang out there.

I haven't really ever been a big IRC person, but I'll see about starting up a room soon. For now, just use github for any questions/issues.

@rdlowrey https://gitter.im is a great way, to communicate on a per project base. It even allows to sign in via github, so their is nearly no hurdle to use it.

@staabm Nifty! How have I never seen this? I've added a gitter room and updated the README:

https://gitter.im/amphp/amp

I'll be idling there going forward for anyone who has questions about amp or any of the relevant libs.

@rdlowrey @staabm chats are not my preferred one. I love forums / emails. Why ? Timezone matters and easy to discover things over the web. Yes google :) .

@harikt if you need a forum/threads, github issues just are fine for that purpose. If you need an instant discussion, chats are fine.

@bwoebi I am ok with it. I just mentioned :) .

Okay then. I'll update this once there is a forum in place ... I'll get around to it eventually.

sure. Thanks!.

Okay, sorry to flip flop and contradict what I just said but ...

After some brief discussion in the new gitter chat (yay!) I think a chat room + github issues are enough. Issue reports can serve well enough as a "forum."

Closing again :)

The only problem I see with the github issues is when we watch a repo, we assume the mails and notifications can be based on watching even if you are pinged. So busy time, we skip things as marked.

Mails on the other hand on google groups are only when a person really sends.

Anyway it is personal taste.

You know that you can change that in your settings?
https://github.com/settings/notifications

There's an option to receive mails only if you're mentioned or participating.

Thank you @kelunik , I haven't noticed that settings.

@harikt Glad we found a solution. :-)
