seems like I need to do $0["_id"] as NSString == postId

I only say that because I need it to do this:

import Foundation

let posts : [[String:AnyObject]] = [
    [
        "id": 10,
        "name": "joe",
        "array": [1,2,3]

    ],
    [
        "id": 1,
        "name": "charlie"
    ]
]

func find(posts:[[String:AnyObject]]) -> AnyObject? {
    for post in posts {
        if post["name"] as NSString == "joe" {
            return post
        }
    }
    return nil
}

find(posts)

But that doesn't solve the issue for $

There's two problems that I see here. First, $.find() expects an array, not a dictionary. Also because of Swift's type safety, you'll have to cast from AnyObject to String for comparison. I'll implement $.find() for dictionaries in my pull request.
