To do this type of statistics you must :
- Do identification on every time step
- Track eddies along identification to create an atlas
- Compute statistics from atlas

If you are just interested to compute statistic on lifetime you could use nb_obs_by_track
property of your Tracking observation object. This property is an array give number of eddy observation by track.
