You have to know it before calling it, writing

query getUser {
   user @rest(type: "User", path: "/user/active") {
      activeUser {
           name
           age
       }
   }
}

should be sufficient

I would recommend a slightly different route: do what @sabativi said, but also invent a new type, ActiveUserResponse, and return that. Once #48 is fixed, you’ll be able to properly cache & typename the inner User
