Ok, the solution should be using Mutation Batching.
The documentation talks about Query Batching but it also supports Mutation Batching.
I would be glad to contribute to the documentation by opening a PR that adds that missing part to the documentation, let me know if you agree before jumping into it. cc @calebmer

I think its important to note in the docs that mutations are executed serially (assuming that they are of course). They should be according to the GraphQL spec: http://facebook.github.io/graphql/October2016/#sec-Executing-Operations.
