Nice idea! Personally, I don't think it matters too much, but it could give the app a more stylish look. I am more prone to the two-color scheme. I will play with this in the coming days, looking for a nice color combination. If you feel like playing around as well, it should be a matter of setting listItem.setBackgroundResource(color) conditionally on the type in the DataCursorAdapter

+1 for the icons, they would make recognizing events more easily, especially if one attends several of them.

I have been trying to imagine situations in which this is useful, but have had a hard time doing so (probably because of my bias towards the necessity of this feature), so I'd appreciate knowing of situations in which having this information would pose a benefit.

On the other hand, I've always had the feeling that the right part of the screen was quite empty. Maybe an icon would be a good way of filling it...
