#HW Activity done:

  • Separate Instructions >> First Time Setup >> Configuring hardware into separate pages for Calibrate Compass, Calibrate accelerometer, Calibrate Radio Control. I know this leads to more pages but each will be shorter and we already have a high-level consolidated view of the set-up (meant for RTF people) on this page: http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/introduction/quick-start-guide/

The documents were split out and put as sub-pages of Mandatory Hardware Configuration. This additionally included a split out page for Frame Type Configuration and I also moved in the ESC Calibration doc.

The original top level doc Mandatory Hardware Configuration has been updated to create links to its contents. It also mentions correct links to additional hardware and also to the RC flight mode setup (also optional)

I've also fixed up all the links I could found to point to the new docs.

  • Where we have Pixhawk & APM2 on the same page, Pixhawk should appear first. Where there’s only one board shown (and the instructions aren’t board specific) we should show a Pixhawk instead of an APM2. The quick-start-guide for example needs this change. http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/introduction/quick-start-guide/

@rmackay9 The recent changes to the assembly sections fixed most of these. Today I went through all the articles in Optional hardware and changed any that needed it to have Pixhawk first.

There are a a few articles that are APM only but none that have Pixhawk "second" (e.g. Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), Mouse-based Optical Flow Sensor (ADNS3080), CHDK Camera Control Tutorial, Analog Sonar (AC3.1).

There may of course be a few others scattered around the wiki, but I think this got most of them. So consider this part of the issue closed.

  • A page (or section on an appropriate page) to tell people how to reset their parameters to the factory defaults (there’s a button on the MP’s full param list screen)

Done (by Randy): http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-parameter-reset/

All issues on this have either been addressed now or are split out into their own separate issues. I am therefore closing this.
