I think the actual bug is that the "Delete" button is not disabled when the resource doesn't exist.

I don't think you can actually apply a resource without a name. Using your example resource:

> pbpaste | k apply -f -
error: error when retrieving current configuration of:
Resource: "/v1, Resource=configmaps", GroupVersionKind: "/v1, Kind=ConfigMap"
Name: "", Namespace: "default"
from server for: "STDIN": resource name may not be empty

Hello @crenshaw-dev ,
We have a resource which was created somehow without name. I was using generateName. now i want to delete that resource.
May be there is a bug in generateName. How I can fix this ?

generateName is generally used with a CLI that generates the name before sending the resource to the Kubernetes API. Argo CD does not support generateName fields and will not generate the name for you.

You could consider using Kustomize's configMapGenerator tool to generate the ConfigMap name.
