Great idea. I can upload it but @jipsen and @drlippman should weigh in on the design.

(sidenote: I've always wondered about the "official" spelling for the wordmark; ASCIIMath(ML), AsciiMath(ML), asciimath(ml) etc)

I'd definitely vote for AsciiMath. The ML ending is mostly used by xml languages, so I guess we shouldn't use it. Furthermore AsciiMath is already long enough =P
ASCIIMath is weird because you have 6 capital letters in a row.
AsciiMath is also the spelling which is used throughout the whole Mathjax documentation.

I've always viewed AsciiMath as the syntax, and AsciiMathML as Peter's rendering script for that syntax.  So I think AsciiMath is more appropriate in this context.

I believe Peter writes it ASCIIMath, since ASCII is an acronym, but I personally prefer AsciiMath.

Hm... Now that I see it live as GitHub avatar I have second thoughts on the specific realization of the design ;-(

=D just thought exactly the same. We need to come up with a simple logo to make it look good in all sizes…
