Great! Really excited about that.

This error was preventing the usage of Atom. In Portuguese we use a lot of
á é í ó and ú's, so you can imagine the keyboard hell :)

@haggen Do you have the bracket-matcher package installed to ~/.atom/packages?

@kevinsawicki Yes I do, its version is 0.25.0

You need version 0.28.0 or later for the fix, if you delete it from ~/.atom/packages/bracket-match then the version bundled with Atom will be used which should have the fix.

Then why do I have it there ? I mean, I never deliberately installed it.

Not sure, apm install installs things to ~/.atom/packages, Atom's bundled packages are located in /Applications/Atom.app

Hm.. well just to be sure not missing out any more updates I wiped my .atom directory. :) Thanks a lot, everything's working fine now.
