+1. Would be very useful for all matching things, like Ruby def
and end
, if...end
as well.

+1 It's one of the big features I'd love to see in Atom.

+1, I posted on the forum about this. http://discuss.atom.io/t/highlight-opening-closing-html-tags/3084
Sublime has a great package for highlighting HTML tags (see forum post). I've moved back to Sublime for now as this is a deal-breaker for me, but Atom is almost useable for me, I dig it.

👍 I'd love this feature too

+1 I search the packages list once a week to see if someone has cooked this up, yet.

I would ❤️ this feature

This is one of the very few Sublime features missing from Atom that is stopping me from using it full time. 0.0

Huge feature for me as well!

I feel like this should've been a really obvious thing to implement from the beginning

Thanks.

This will be available in the next Atom release, 0.100.0

Yay! Thanks @kevinsawicki.

+1 @kevinsawicki is this feature available now? I'm on Atom 0.159.0 and I've also installed bracket-matcher 0.64 from https://github.com/atom/bracket-matcher but it doesn't seem to be working
from bracket-matcher.
@grigio yes, it shipped a while back. It appears to be specific to the grammar being used, so you may have to be in an html file or be using the html grammar to see it.
from bracket-matcher.
@cameronmcefee cool but it doesn't work for me :( which atom and bracket-matcher version do you use?
from bracket-matcher.
Atom: 0.165.0
Bracket Matcher: 0.64.0
from bracket-matcher.
I've upgraded to 0.165.0 but the problem persists
from bracket-matcher.
Some things to try to debug:
-
View > Developer > Toggle Developer Tools and check the console for any errors
-
Click on one of the tags so that the bracket highlight should appear. See if you can find the bracket-matcher element to see it's style is being overridden by a theme.
from bracket-matcher.
@grigio First of all, you mentioned that you installed bracket-matcher. It comes default-installed with Atom so you shouldn't install it separately. Second, your theme may have changed the bracket matching style so that it is invisible or very hard to see. You might want to try putting something like this in your styles.less

from bracket-matcher.
@cameronmcefee @lee-dohm thanks, I solved it. The problem was that the themes I was trying didn't support these feature. The syntax theme Atom Dark
works
