While duplicate words are a common mistake and I think it would be handy to catch such errors automatically, I doubt this package should handle them. There are many other mistakes that could be catched in that fashion. For example one could mark double spaces, following sentences starting with the same word, paragraphs with only one sentence in them or multiple headings following after another. At that point, these feel a lot more like linters than a spelling/syntax checker. I suggest you have a look at atom linter which has plugins for a lot of linters already and should most probably include a text linter at some point, @thedataking.

Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean by "detect duplicated word"? Thanks

yes, word and many other word processors highlight duplicate words. for
instance, I was just editing a long document containing "it it", "sure
sure", and "the the" which where all errors and easy to spot using a regex
search.
I really enjoy atom and the quick development pace.
thanks,

I vote against this suggestion...
Even if the spellchecker currently only supports English, I suppose it will support other languages later, and in some languages, doubled words are, sometime, OK. For example, in French, we can write "vous vous fourvoyez"... (you are misleading yourself).
