@davidwparker Yeah, Dvorak-Qwerty mode does not work currently -- see atom/atom-keymap#12 and atom/atom#1659. There was an attempt at fixing things, but got reverted due to some problems.

@nathansobo Do you think it makes sense to reopen one of those issues to track this again?

Interestingly, I don't use Dvorak-Qwerty, but just Dvorak. I've never had issue with it as the user in atom/atom-keymap#12 seems to...

Other keybindings seems to work, such as toggle full screen mode CTRL+CMD+F.

@davidwparker Oh, sorry for misunderstanding. Can you trigger the suggester dropdown by using the command palette instead of the cmd+shift+; keystroke?

Also, just to make sure -- is your cursor placed on a misspelled word when you trigger the command? It doesn't do anything (expectedly) if your cursor is not placed on a word which is marked as misspelled. (the red dashed underline)

@izuzak - When I open the command palette, I don't see "correct spelling" or anything spelling related.

I do see "correct spelling" when I right click on a word. When I click it, it doesn't do anything though.

I am on a misspelled word, but I don't see the red dashed underline.

Here's what you should be seeing:

Which version of Atom are you using? Also, which type of file are you editing (what does the status bar say, next to the indicator of the cursor position)? The spell checker is not enabled in all file types by default, but you can enable it for more file types in the settings for the Spell Check package.

Ah, that's it- I opened a new document and it worked. For whatever reason, I expected it to work on all types of files (I was editing JavaScript).

I looked in the settings for where to add other file types, but didn't see where I should do that.
I also didn't see where I could add custom words to the dictionary, but will definitely be interested in that as well.
If you could point me in the right direction for either / both of those, I would much appreciate it.

Feel free to close this issue.

Thanks again @izuzak

Ahhh, great to hear we figured this out :)

I looked in the settings for where to add other file types, but didn't see where I should do that.

Atom > Settings > (scroll down in the list of packages on the left) > Spell Check > Grammars textbox

I also didn't see where I could add custom words to the dictionary, but will definitely be interested in that as well.

This package uses the system dictionary, as described here: https://github.com/atom/spell-check#changing-the-dictionary.

Hope this helps!
