Hi @mxiamxia, thanks for the suggestion. It worked after setting OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_ENDPOINT=http://localhost:55680, protocol also was needed.

Hi @raghu-megh , OpenTelemetry community recently has updated the default OTLP receiver port to 4317 but the latest release of AWS OTel Collector image(v0.7.0) still has the old port 55680 as the default port.
Can you set an environment variable OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_ENDPOINT=localhost:55680 for your otel-trace-emitter Java application? So your Trace emitter can send the trace data to the right port(55680) in Collector?
In our next AWS OTel Collector release in the next few weeks, we'll update the default port to 4317 for AWS OTel Collector default config.
