I prefer to use the top level stack, its easier to manage and maintain and has minimal impact on the current implementation. We can recursively traverse up the stacks until we reach the parent. this can be done in a simple function. We need to make sure there is no race condition between the creation of the resources and subsequent calls to look for it.
