0.28 changes params in GET request about axios

Seems to be the change to the URL params serializer in v1.0.0.

I have tried setting indexes: null, but no luck.
project wide

axios.defaults.paramsSerializer = {
  indexes: null,
};

and directly on the call

const foo = {"textSearch":"","conditions":[]};

axios.get('/api/test', {
  params: {
    bar: foo,
    baz: 0
  },
  paramsSerializer: {
    indexes: null,
  }
})

Still getting ?bar[textSearch]=&...

Checking axios.defaults just ahead of the get request, shows it being set:

{
  ...
  "paramsSerializer": {
    "indexes": null
  }
}

Any hint appreciated.
