I was wondering if this will increase the dsl complexity, since for each database, we could also skip tables... do you have any thoughts about this?

Maybe something like:

adapter :mysql do
  database "a"
  database "b", :skip_tables => ["c", "d"]
  ... or ...
  all_databases
end

from backup.

Not so bad as I thought =). Let's hear what Michael think about this.

This does seem very nice indeed. Especially if you have like 10 clients or projects running on a big server, then its nice to be able to just have 1 standard config poking at multiple databases at the same time.

We should consider this, along with another feature request by the way, which is the multiple storage feature, so that you can tell a single backup setting to both backup multiple databases, but also push to multiple storage locations (e.g. SCP, S3, CF, etc).

That'd be pretty awesome.
