The first test is known to fail on Riak versions earlier than 0.14.2 where that bug was fixed. I'll make sure the test isn't run with other versions.
As for the other tests, I just tried setting this up on a freshly installed CentOS system, and the tests from the current master ran without any problems. Could you look at Riak's log to find out why it crashed?
from riak-python-client.
I tried to build 0.14.2 from the source, but got the following
warning/errors:
==> riakc (compile)
Compiling src/riakclient.proto
WARNING: option deprecated
Config option 'fail_on_warning' has been deprecated
in favor of 'warnings_as_errors'.
'fail_on_warning' will be removed once OTP R14B03 is released.
Compiled src/riakc_obj.erl
Compiled src/riakc_pb.erl
src/riakc_pb_socket.erl:62: type ip_address() undefined
make: *** [compile] Error 1
I also tried to use the 0.14.2 rpm, and some error logs are attached. I'm
sorry I have no knowledge on erlang to debug the logs. Can you take a kind
look?
Thanks,
-B

It looks like you're using an Erlang version that's not yet compatible with Riak 0.14.2. Are you running Erlang R14B03 by eny chance?
Your logs unfortunately are not attachable to issues on Github, so you'd need to put some into a Gist to make them visible to us.

I paste the log files into [email protected]:e1ee84ad218ea5d7b004.git
I believe I use R14B03:
erl
Erlang R14B03 (erts-5.8.4) [source] [64-bit] [smp:8:8] [rq:8] [async-threads:0] [hipe] [kernel-poll:false]
Eshell V5.8.4 (abort with ^G)

You need to run the current stable version of Riak with Erlang R13B04. See our wiki for a full description of how to install Erlang.

I tried to use R13B04, however got the same errors as well.

Could you please try installing the RPM again on a clean system? The errors seem pretty odd and shouldn't occur on a clean system.

Thanks, will try it once I get a clean one.
