You can disable vim-airline for windows with vial-http buffers:

au WinEnter,BufWinEnter __vial_* let w:airline_disabled=1

Just created a PR for adding a vim function VialHttpResponse() to return the http response. I'm not too sure about airline, but it helps me setting up lightline to show the response in the status line. Besides the status line, you can also map something to :VialHttp<CR>:echo VialHttpResponse()<CR> so it can show the response once the request is completed.
