node-waf is not on your path. set PATH=%PATH%;C:\wherever\node\bin alone won't fix that though, node-iconv expects a UNIX-y environment.

I see. I did a bit more reading and it seems like gyp is what nodejs moved on to using for more cross platform compatible builds. Might be worthwhile to look into this.

I know, node-buffertools already switched (or dual-builds, really). The problem is that it's a fair bit of work to gyp-ify the bundled libiconv.

You could use Windows-specific translation functions (e.g. WideCharToMultiByte, MultiByteToWideChar, etc), but then it wouldn't be "node-iconv" there anymore ;-)

This is the road Google took for Chromium OS.

Reopening. I have a branch that builds with node-gyp. It works for me but I would like at least one WFM2.
