If keybindings are eaten by external software, a more relevant fix would be to provide alternate keybindings, or perhaps make them configurable, especially since many of them act differently depending on focus, and a menu would break that. Could you provide some details about the problematic keys?

For some reason I am yet to figure out, Ctrl+F doesn't work on my Ubuntu setup. That is preventing me from using CatNip.

That's odd, I'm running a pretty baseline Ubuntu myself and I don't have that problem. Ctrl+F, though, is a keybinding that already has a menu item - it's at the bottom of the "Buffers" menu.

I'm going to see about making the keybindings configurable, though, that seems to me the best fix for this problem. I've also been meaning to add one or two extra menus, but unfortunately that can't be done sensibly for every keybinding.

File-open is working for me via menu as of v0.3.0. Thanks! I could close this issue, but I am not sure if you are planning to add more items to the menu still.

I'd like to keep this open as a reminder to myself that I should make keybindings configurable, if you don't mind. :)
