Definitely not intentional on my part ... git blame says you did it, last year: 351cc66

Oh, no, wait ... that's a merge commit. Hmm ... a bit tricky to follow the history in git across the file rename, isn't it? Looks like it was commented out (well, podded out, I suppose) when first added, in d6c57a6 way back in 2008. Of course, that commit doesn't include any tests for it, so maybe that has something to do with it. (It also appears to be before the conversion to git, so perhaps there's more info on the Subversion side, if it still exists. I dunno the status of Sourceforge these days.)

Sourceforge is dead, and I'll take the blame and fix it with a new release. I wanted to make sure you hadn't done something first. :)
