I think that this is actually resolved by BroadleafCommerce/BroadleafCommerce#273. This is merged into in 3.0.3-SNAPSHOT. Could you try bumping your version and see if that fixes it?

By the way, I think that this is actually unrelated to bundles. I think this instead just happens when you get a failed response back from Paypal, then you go back to checkout. Would you mind confirming?

An error stack no longer appears but if you update the quantity of a bundle you are no longer able to checkout. You get returned to the cart as a silent error.
Using version 3.0.5GA
