@hovissimo I am having trouble duplicating this issue. I took your config file and plugged it into a basic console app and I can see my logs show up on a remote ES server. Can you try using the IP of the server instead of the name in case there is a DNS resolution issue? I'd be curious to see if that works ok.
If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll try it out on an MVC app as close as I can duplicate to yours.

Yeah, no change when I use the IP address.
I've cloned the repository and added it to my solution, but breakpoints in the ElasticSearchAppender aren't breaking. Either I've got something misconfigured, or I don't know what I'm doing. :)

I had a version mismatch with log4net itself. I don't know why I didn't get any error messages.
Updating log4net made everything work.
