Hi @gigi! What is the buf generate command are you running? I'm wondering if it needs to be updated to use the --include-imports flag

You are right. This flag compiles and preserves dependencies for each plugin.
We don't need this external files for other languages. Only csharp setup forces us to include all google dependencies.

Can we control this per plugin or should we use different configs e.g. buf.inlcudeimports.yaml in our CI and two generate commands?

e.g.

buf generate --config buf.yaml 
buf generate --config buf.inlcudeimports.yaml --include-imports --include-wkt
