I don't know how to fix it either. The problem is, the tests have a dependency on the crate that is being tested. This is necessary for testing the quickcheck
macro.
For now, I've disabled the tests because:
- We should be able to get something useful from
cargo test
. - I don't know how to specify test-only dependencies.

I believe to specify test-only deps you can use [dev-dependencies.package_name]
, a la https://github.com/rust-lang/cargo/blob/master/Cargo.toml#L20-L21

@tomjakubowski I couldn't get that to work. Looking at the output of cargo test --verbose
, it seems that the dev-dependencies
aren't included.
In any case, I discovered that Cargo will test things if you put them in a tests
sub-directory, so I moved the macro tests there. :-)

Oh, derp, of course I should have realized that wouldn't work for tests that depend on the package's crate. Glad you found the solution!
