The invocation is nothing special, just xcodebuild -scheme SCHEME -workspace WORKSPACE build right now, which is why it's not printed. Would that still be useful to see?
what exactly are the heuristics for picking which of the many shared schemes a workspace might have?
Schemes are looked up in an xcodeproj if present (from amongst the shared schemes), then built using the workspace.
In some cases, I've been too close to this stuff to know what's worth documenting. If you feel like anything is missing, please do open a PR. 🙏

Generalized this to include Git tasks too, because some of its errors can be pretty opaque, especially if you have no idea what Carthage was doing when the problem occurred.

Fixed by #986. Git invocations aren't printed, but that's covered by #630.
