Looking at it a bit more, perhaps the only thing that would need to be scaled is the "speed" value. A speed of 1.0 looks silly between all the different widths, but if that scaled the same settings look pretty good.

In fact, the speed is already scaled because it uses ratios. So if your screen is bigger, the speed will be increased. Is that the problem?

SwipeRefreshLayout uses an internal class called SwipeProgressBar; somehow that scales fairly well between different devices, though I haven't examined exactly why.

Well it seems that the SwipeProgressBar does nothing more than the SmoothProgressDrawable. I guess you think it scales better because it's always in mirror mode.

TBH, I've switched over to SwipeRefreshLayout so this is more moot to me now.
