I can't repeat this at v0.3.0 or at master HEAD (0238332) with the 30kmoviedata.nt.gz file included in the repo.

Can you give more information please?

The version I tested from:

If I uncompress the gz file, then no error.

Ah, OK. v0.3.0 doesn't transparently decompress data. (I missed that I didn't build with that version due to version skew with leveldb since that release).

Automatic decompression was introduced in 9bf09a5 which does not yet have a release. I understand that is coming soon. In the meantime, you need to run gunzip first, or build from the git source (go get github.com/google/cayley will do this for you if you have go installed - this only takes a few minutes).
