URLs that exist in legacy blog posts are a remnant of the WP architecture of the previous site. WordPress, by default, creates unique asset URLs for each piece of media uploaded to the back-end, and wraps images in its posts in a direct link to the asset. This isn't inherently useful, and not applicable in the context of the new site.
Saying that, this particular post should have accompanying images, whether they're linked or not. I tried to find the most recent archived copy of the page (from Aug '20), but seems its images are missing too. Perhaps we'll come across other examples of broken images in the archive of Blog content.
Most posts from the Blog export that included images (example) should have been migrated as expected (i.e. into an images
directory colocated with their post)โthough the post content has carried over this legacy WP convention of wrapping the image in a superfluous link (which unfortunately will 404 in this case).
How or how much of this we feel we can manage may be a matter to weigh up with the wider group?
Side note: We also have a broken links ticket #212, though that covers the non-Blog pages of the site. Running a link checker across ~800 blog posts was too vast to export manageable results, though we can assume there will be broken links throughout some articles.
