Just had an idea for how to handle the server side declaration of new sockets:

import node from "@joystick.js/node";
import api from "./api";

node.app({
  api,
  routes: { ... },
  websockets: {
    '/thing': {
      onOpen: (connection) => {},
      onMessage: (message, connection) => {},
      onClose: (connection) => {},
    },
  },
});

from joystick.

Done. I didn't use uWebSockets (just the plain ws package implementation). May be some room for performance gains down the road to use that.
