Yah, val() is probably good for normalizing input values. I'm hesitant about adding all the selector sugar the jQuery gives you.. but maybe we could have options[selected] as a slightly less obtuse version.

I'll write the code for val() & options[selected] in attributes.js, if you'll write the tests. I hate coffee script. :)

Haha, deal. Yah I'm trying to move away from coffeescript completely, but it's a pretty low priority..
